Looking for any info on my anc from your area. Joseph, William & Moores DUNSMORE/DENSMORE were listed in the Yonge census at least in 1808, 1810 & 1811. Moores was listed as witness to a marriage in Yonge with Samuel Avery. Moores was born in Vermont in 1787 died in Jefferson County, New York in 1869 marr Cynthia AVERY (b. 1790 d. 1822 supposedly) in 1810. They had at least two children (Ruth Densmore Ackerman, & Edmund Densmore who moved to Mich). Cynthia is supposedly daug of William AVERY & Deliverance MOTT of Mallorytown & Yonge Mills, and said to be buried in Prescott. Moores Dunsmore fought in the War of 1812, but I don't know for which side! He also is said to have opperated a barge during the building of the Erie Canal...

For the last 25 years ,
have been working on my wife's family tree wonder if there was any
connection with the Loyalist Jessups in Prescott and Brockville.
William Jessup, Born in E’town Twp in
1798 (ca) as per 1851 (1852) Census of Wilberforce Twp. Renfrew Co.
This William Jessup appears in the 1819 Census of Augusta Twp, as
single & could have been in the same household as Edward & Susanna
Jessup, in the 1824 census he
was shown as married & no children. He
marr Mary Fraser (Frasier)
on 3rd of Sept in 1823 in
St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church.
We have heard lots of stories that he is related to the loyalist
Jessups, & even in old obits they mention the Loyalist connection.
In ca 1828, William Jessup moved to the Eganville (Bonnechere District)
and was one of the first settlers in that area.

working on are the LINK family from Stormont
an& Dundas all desc from William
LINK & Elizabeth WEIR(s) who marr in 1825 in the Cornwall area.
Have not found William's parents. He
b in Canada around 1800. Because
of the repeated use of the names John and Matthias, amongst others, in the
succeeding generations, believe
they are probably related to John (Johanes) &/or Matthias LINK who
seem to be loyalists; these two appear to have originated in the Stone Arabia
area of New York State.

"page 56, marriages by Rev. Henry Lane, Episcopal
Methodist Minister, E’town
Elijah Griffin to Aseneth Monsow,
both of Young 6 May 1854 by licence Witness
Gilbert Wickwise* and Melvina
Monsow *sic
Wickware."
The
MONSOW name does not seem to attract any info.
Have tried Muncell & its various spellings.
There were a lot of MUNRO people in the Mallorytown/Yonge Twsp,
Was MONSOW transcibed in error or
that the writer did not know how to spell very well during that time period,
etc. Came across this couple: Frank
& Malvina Masse on someone's web page The
person was listing MUNRO family members. ASSUMING that the above Malvina Masse is also Malvina MUNRO
Masse. Believe this couple was in
the Ontario or Leeds Co area.
The "record" that
placed at the beginning of this e‑mail, shows Asenath Monsow,
also Melvina Monsow. Am
hoping that both of these women are actually MUNRO.
