Both Ebenezer Wright & Peleg Spencer were of the Shaftsbury, Vt. contingent who had their lands confiscated, went through some persecutions, ended up in Quebec, were granted land in Upper Canada, etc. Were they just crown sympathizers who came up after the war to get some land?  Ebenezer Wright's son Asahel was a loyalist- maybe dad was too old.- don't see any Peleg Spencer who mar Ebenezer Wright's dau Sarah.

Am a direct descendent of Asenith Buck & John Baldwin---Silas Baldwin & Roxey Bickford--Silas Henry Baldwin & Eliza Shea Montgomery-- Eli Earl Baldwin & Hattie Mary Fetterly---William Raymond & Yvonne Dora Workman.  The origins of John Baldwin are a mystery.  A letter dated 1930 states that John Baldwin settlin Vermont with his parents before coming to Canada..  There seem to be no birth records & it suggested is that he may have been born on a ship crossing from Gr. Britain.

Henry & Caroline (Henstridge) Warren immig from Mitcham, Surrey, in 1834—perhaps as part of the Petworth Project,  initially lived in Prescott - at least that is where he said he was from on his discharge certificate from the local militia compnay, in 1838. They brought two boys & a girl with them from Eng, had 3 more daughters & 3 sons. The older two of these 3 daus were Eliza, b. ca. 1835, & Amelia, b. 1842.  Family at a rented farm (I believe) at Glen Stewart, C6, Lot 29 where they remained until late 1870/early 1871— were in Adelaide twsp 1871 census. Henry died in Sep. '71, buried  Strathroy Cemetery. Have located the rest of the fam, complete with details of marriages & burials, but Eliza & Amelia  not with them  Believe that the Ordnance Survey , 1st Ed. shows a small cemetery on Lot 29, so  sisters may havedied in some sort of epidemic & are bur on the farm; they died between the 1861 census, Matilda township, & the 1871 census, Adelaide township.
