Desc of Israel Boulton b.c1811 in the USA or in E’town Twsp, Leeds, usually said to be son of William Boulton (1776-1859) & Martha Elliott (1777-1879) and grandson of George Boulton (1740-1794) & Nancy Bickford of E/town (prob of Wexford, via the USA). The many family trees for this family appearing on ancestry.com and elsewhere apparently, confuse children of George Boulton with Abraham Boulton & men of the same names in different generations. Would very much appreciate being put in contact with, & hearing from, anyone who might be able to assist with sorting out my own ancestry prior to Israel Boulton (b.c1811) who marr Isabella Millar in 1830 & Johanna Ward in 1836, both marriages taking place at Perth.    Doing so would be greatly assisted by info anyone might have re three Boulton men who arr in Bathurst Twsp, Lanark Co, ca 1822 & built mills (1823) where Boulton Creek enters the Fall River thus founding the village of Fallbrook ... Benjamin Boulton (b.c1778) mar (c1800) to Charlotte, Samuel Boulton (b.1785) marr (c1810) to Rachel Pursell & Hugh Boulton (b.c1786) marr (c1812) to Susannah Pursell ... the latter two marriages apparently taking place at Broadalbin, Montgomery County, New York.   Any & all assistance, regardless of how minor, would be greatly appreciated.

Clark Shea     shea1@shaw.ca

My wife, Carol Shea U.E. desc from Quebec Loyalist Nathaniel STARNES.  from Fort Edward, New York & like so many of the farmers in that area was a Loyalist, leased land from the Jessups.  Starnes was arrested while delivering a dispatch to Col. Jessup & spent time in the Albany gaol before escaping with a British officer also a prisoner there. Starnes seems to have had a personal relationship with the Col. The Canadian archives record that some time before 1777, Jessup asked Starnes to adopt two small children, a boy 4 and a girl 5., which he did. However after a year's time the Congress in the area took the children away from Starnes and his family because of his political leanings and relocated them with another family. Would like to get more info about this failed adoption in hopes of learning where the Starnes came from prior to Fort Edward. Such an event is likely recorded somewhere &  thought starting with Jessup's papers might give me a clue.

Library and Archives Canada to go 100% Digital

A recent report from Library and Archives Canada announced that, over the next seven years, the records of Canada’s heritage will be going completely digital. Going digital means it will be easier than ever to research your ancestry because all of the information held by LAC will be available in searchable databases.
Another benefit of storing the information in digital form is that it reduces the impact to the environment. Library and Archives Canada currently sends out about 750,000 photocopies each year and hopes to completely phase out paper copies by April 2011.
"Taking advantage of new digital information technologies will change not only the way we acquire and preserve our collection but also how we make it accessible to Canadians." explained Dr. Daniel J. Caron, Librarian and Archivist of Canada. "The digital environment is also providing us with opportunities to enhance our services to other documentary heritage institutions. This makes sense from both the client service and business practice perspectives – to stay relevant, we must move forward."
